Dr. Bruland is an Assistant Professor in the Natural Resources and Environmental Management Department at University of Hawaii Manoa (UHM). His research interests include soil and water conservation, watershed management, wetland ecology, and coastal resource management. He teaches courses on resource management, soil and water conservation, land degradation, and coastal ecosystems. Prior to coming to UHM he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Soil and Water Science Department at University of Florida. He received a PhD from the Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences at Duke University and a BS in Environmental Chemistry from Principia College.
