Research and Professional Interests
Rachel Finan is a graduate student at The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) where she is pursuing an MA in International Economics and International Relations with a specialization in Energy, Resource, and Environment. She is also an Environmental Defense Fund Climate Corps Fellow, a position in which she identifies opportunities for businesses and institutions to save money by using water more efficiently and by implementing innovative water-reuse technologies.
Prior to enrolling at SAIS, Rachel spent several years working as a Strategic Communications Consultant in Washington, DC for clients in the energy, food/water security, and environment sectors. Her international experience (which includes working in Malawi for a year on HIV/AIDS issues, spending six months living in rural Botswana, and studying for a year at The Johns Hopkins Europe Center in Italy) has greatly informed her understanding of global water challenges. She holds a BA from Dickinson College.
