Environmental Engineering Master's Programs Application Deadline Extended to May 1

The Whiting School of Engineering has extended the deadline to apply for our master's degrees in environmental engineering (MS and MSE) to May `1. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional, and there is no application fee.

What We Do in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering

Our unique cross-divisional department combines the strengths of the Whiting School of Engineering and the Bloomberg School of Public Health. Our graduates are prepared to be successful public health and engineering professionals in private and governmental organizations and attend the best graduate and PhD programs.

Environmental Health and Engineering Graduates: Where Are They Now?

Elizabeth Chatpar, BA 22

Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in earth and planetary sciences from Johns Hopkins University. She is a second-year ScM student with a focus on food and sustainability.

Samiska Deme

As an undergraduate at Rice University, Sami double-majored in Earth science and biology. She is second-year ScM student, studying in the lab of Joseph Bressler, associate professor. Sami uses the toxicological methods she’s learned to research the use of ascorbic acid as a co-chemotherapeutic in prostate cancer treatment. 

Iman Habib, BA

Iman earned her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated in May of 2022. Currently, she is a second-year ScM student.
